Approach

No black boxes. No surprises.

Software projects fail in the gaps: unclear scope, invisible progress, surprise invoices. Our process exists to close those gaps before they open.

The process

Four steps, every time.

  1. 01

    Intro call

    30 min, free

Tell us what you’re trying to do. We’ll ask hard questions and tell you honestly whether we’re the right fit, even if the answer is no.

  2. 02

    Scoping sprint

    1–2 weeks, fixed price

We map the problem, the risks, and the architecture, then hand you a written plan, a timeline, and a firm quote. The plan is yours to keep either way.

  3. 03

    Build

    Weekly demos

Short iterations with working software at every demo. You get access to the repo, the board, and the engineers. No black boxes.

  4. 04

    Launch & support

    Ongoing

We ship to production, document everything, and either hand off cleanly to your team or stay on to maintain and grow it.

Engagement models

Pick the shape that fits.

Every engagement starts with the same fixed-price scoping sprint. After that, choose how you want to work. You can switch models as your needs change.

Best for: a defined product, feature, or migration

Fixed-scope project

A clear scope, a fixed quote, and a delivery date, agreed after the scoping sprint.

  • Fixed price and timeline
  • Milestone-based billing
  • 30 days of post-launch fixes
Best for: ongoing product work

Embedded engineering

Senior engineers working inside your team, your tools, and your rituals on a monthly retainer.

  • Monthly retainer
  • Scale up or down with 30 days’ notice
  • Works with your existing team
Best for: founders and non-technical leaders

Fractional CTO

Technical leadership without a full-time hire: architecture, vendor and hiring decisions, and roadmap.

  • A few hours a week
  • Architecture and code reviews
  • Hiring and vendor guidance
FAQ

The fine print, up front.

How much does a project cost?

It depends on scope, which is why every engagement starts with a short, fixed-price scoping sprint. You leave it with a written plan and a firm quote. Ongoing work is billed as a monthly retainer, so you always know the number in advance.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within one to two weeks of the intro call. The scoping sprint itself takes one to two weeks, and most builds ship a first working version to a staging environment within the first month.

Who owns the code and IP?

You do, completely. Everything lives in your repositories and cloud accounts from day one, and all intellectual property transfers to you.

Can you work with our existing team or codebase?

Yes. A lot of our work is joining an existing team, rescuing a stalled project, or modernizing a codebase someone else started. We adapt to your tools and process.

Do you only build AI projects?

No. AI is one of six practice areas. We recommend it only where it clearly beats a simpler solution, and plenty of the best projects involve no AI at all.

Where are you based?

We are US-based and work with clients across North America, on US time zones, with remote collaboration and on-site visits when they help.
